Update: 23 April 2020
With the Australian government easing dental restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will now be able to treat a broader range of patients.
Level 2 restrictions commence Monday 27th April, we will then be able to see you for the following:
– Restorative/filling procedures using rubber dam only
– Scaling/cleaning by hand instruments only
We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the 3 week temporary closure, but it was necessary for the safety of our patients and our Team.
We are strictly following the Australian Dental Association’s COVID-19 guidelines for dental care, with extensive and thorough infection control protocols and procedures. Government limitations have eased, but there are still some restrictions on dental care.
On behalf of our entire team, we would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you and your family all the best.
Stay safe! We will get through this together! Should you wish to book, please contact us via phone.
Update: March 30 2020
To our loyal customers and clients,
We have been advised by our governing body, the ADA (Australian Dental Association), that Level 3 restrictions in dental now apply. Unfortunately, this means that our business is impacted and effectively closes both our Coffs Harbour & Moonee practice’s normal operating model for procedures and business hours.
We are currently in the process of contacting everyone with an appointment within the next 2 weeks to advise on the current situation and work with you on next steps. We will continue to monitor the situation and advise patients with appointments in the future, if these restrictions continue.
We realise the stress and concern this may cause to our valuable customers and while this is out of our control, we want to reassure you that we are here for you if you have an emergency. We will run an advisory service via our online functions – web chat on our website and Facebook Messenger, for EMERGENCY patients ONLY. This is as per the criteria of the restrictions received from the ADA.
If you are an existing patient and find yourself it’s one of the below conditions please contact us, initially using the means above if you;
- Have acute and severe dental pain
- Significantly damaged upper front teeth due to trauma
- Soft tissue pathology (what does this mean)
- Referred by a medical practitioner for medically necessary dental care only
Please note: We are compliant with the ADA direction, and large fines are applicable if businesses do treat patients in contradiction of the restriction criteria.
As medical records can only be accessed remotely, we will have to close our books to new patients until the COVID-19 crisis is over.
Please be aware that the only treatment we are able to perform for those patients meeting the criteria is temporisation only, for example if you have broken a tooth and it is not causing you pain we are not allowed to treat you.
However, if you have broken a tooth and it is cutting your tongue causing ulceration we may be able to see you to smooth the tooth but not able to fill it. We have had 2 wonderful staff members that have offered to volunteer to keep this service for our patients and this means that you may not be seeing your usual dentist.
For your information, we have also listed below on what treatment we are NOT allowed to perform at this time:
- Extractions of asymptomatic (non painful) teeth without swelling
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Bleeding or sore gums
- Loose teeth
- Denture concerns
- Crown and bridge
- Scale and clean
- Clicking in the jaw
As always, please know that we are here to help wherever we can. We will continue to support our community where possible, but please be patient during this time. Stay safe and continue to look after each other!
