If your teeth are chipped, heavily discoloured, have small gaps between them or are slightly crooked, then veneers may be an option. Veneers are thin shells that are bonded onto the front of your teeth to effectively hide these problems.
As a precursor to veneers, we recommend you try teeth whitening first. Veneers are used in the “smile zone” i.e. on the teeth that are visible when you smile, whereas whitening will brighten all of your teeth. In addition, you achieve a better result with veneers when your natural teeth are as light as possible.
Why use porcelain veneers?
- Appearance is very important
- Chipped teeth
- Stained teeth due to antibiotics or trauma or root canal treatment
- Teeth with old fillings or where fillings discolor quickly
- Minor reshaping of teeth
- Crooked teeth
- Closing spaces between teeth
